Pedal Assist Sensor (PAS) Issue
Error Code 3 on your QuietKat electric bike's display indicates an issue with the Pedal Assist Sensor. This sensor is responsible for detecting your pedaling motion and sending signals to the motor to provide the appropriate level of assistance. When this sensor malfunctions, it can disrupt your bike's performance.
Troubleshooting Steps for Error Code 3:
1. Power Cycle Your Bike:
- Turn off your bike by holding the power button until the display turns off.
- Wait for a few seconds.
- Turn the bike back on. This simple step often clears minor glitches and false errors.
2. Inspect Wiring Connections:
- Examine all the wires and connectors related to the pedal assist sensor. Look for loose connections, frayed wires, or damaged connectors. The PAS sensor can be found near the front chainring and is a yellow plug connection that you will see when disconnected.
- Re-seat any connectors that seem loose or disconnected. Ensure they fit snugly.
3. Check Sensor Light Indicator:
- When your bike is powered on, the indicator will show a red light and blink while operating. If you do not see the indicator light shining, contact QuietKat support.
4. Contact Customer Support:
- If you've followed all the above steps and the error persists, it's advisable to get in touch with QuietKat's customer support or a certified technician for further assistance.
If you are still within your warranty period, or have the Extend warranty, this will be covered. If you are outside of your warranty period, we will send you a quote for the replacement part(s).
